Operations Hub¶
AmiCore governs the behavior of each runtime, but a large deployment also needs a consolidated view across the full 3forge estate. Instances may be distributed across production and non-production environments, regions, business areas, and data centers; different teams own individual applications while central technology functions remain responsible for capacity, supported versions, licensing, and operational risk.
The Operations Hub provides this estate-wide control layer.
What It Is¶
Operations Hub is a client-hosted application that catalogs deployed 3forge applications and their instances, monitors their health and utilization, identifies versions, manages licensing, and generates alerts and reports. It operates entirely within the client environment, no connection from the deployed estate to 3forge infrastructure is required.
The result is a live inventory linked to operational evidence, rather than a manually maintained list of what teams believe has been deployed.
Health, Usage, and Performance¶
The Hub gathers health and usage information from registered instances of AmiCore with component-level granularity:
- Runtime-level telemetry: CPU, memory, thread counts, garbage collection, user logins, and active sessions.
- Drill-down inside the AmiCore container: open ports, partitions, open files, and OS-level signals.
- Trends over time: rolling averages, highs, and lows over different periods, so teams can identify sustained capacity requirements and emerging trends rather than reacting to isolated measurements.
Absence and Inconsistency Detection¶
The monitoring model also looks for what is missing or unexpected:
- If an expected instance stops checking in, the Hub flags it as possibly stalled, disconnected, or no longer operating as recorded.
- If an unregistered instance or out-of-scope request appears, the discrepancy is surfaced before it becomes an inventory, licensing, or audit problem.
Alerts and Reports¶
Alerts and reports can be directed to the teams responsible for particular product areas or regions. Scheduled PDF reports summarize usage, exceptions, and bottlenecks without requiring operations or audit teams to assemble the information manually.
How It Complements Infrastructure Monitoring¶
This complements rather than replaces infrastructure monitoring. Conventional tools may show that a host or JVM is consuming memory; Operations Hub adds the 3forge context, which application is running, which components it contains, where it is deployed, which version it uses, and how its sessions and licenses are behaving.
Operations teams can then distinguish a local performance issue from an estate-wide trend and act before resource pressure or configuration drift affects users.
